(Hunter Valley, NSW)'The average Hunter Valley Shiraz may not have the size and opulence of so many version from South Australia & Central & Northern Victoria, nor are they usually as alcoholic, but they can possess a certain poise and elegance. The latest seems a reversion to the type of wine made in the 1950's & 60's, a well measured dry clearly designed more for the dinner table than the show judges tasting bench.
