Not sure how much this vintage (the last was about 6%) and this feels like it may have been toned down a little further. This is an excellent wine but I must say I prefer my Hunter shiraz straight up or maybe with just a dash of pinot noir. Aromas of cassis, licorice, earth and smoky spicy oak with a light floral lift. Darkly sweet and savoury. On the palate medium to full bodied with intense sweet black fruit and more earthy flavours backed with spicy smoky oak.
